Thanks for the props! Indeed – it was so tough to be pressed with just one week to be in Texas and I knew I could catch flack from Houstonians (I was a Houstonian myself for 15 years). To this day, I’m an Astros fan and get back to Houston a few times a year – the azaleas should be getting pretty good about now, ‘eh?

I think you did a good job with the interview even though (as I said at the Amateur Traveler) you left Houston out. Ha.. I’m just teasing because you acknowledged right up front that it would be impossible to cover the whole state. The areas you did cover were very well done. Texas represent! Woot!

Tricia, that warms my heart. My greatest fear was that I would fail to represent the variety and diversity of Texas. I just listened to the podcast and I’m still not satisfied that I did a good job, but the fact that another Texan thinks I did is encouraging.

I just finished listening to your interview on the podcast. As a longtime Texan (Austin, Houston and now Dallas), I want to commend you with the fantastic job you did in reflecting the state’s diversity. I believe you may have helped to dispel some of the negative stereotypes of Texans. I’m also happy to learn of your website and look forward to digging into it. Thanks!
